Let’s Skip The Small Talk

In the Moment Co was created in a rock bottom moment from which there was a massive discrepancy between what was needed on the inside and what was seen from the outside. A perceived identity of health and wellbeing became a mask of toxic positivity and ‘she’ll be rights’.

She was not alright…

Using the skills of emotional intelligence and science of stress, ITM offers real time tools for actionable change in those who are experiencing high distress and trauma exposure in order to lead their teams better, recover faster and live life to the fullest.

With no fluffy stuff.

ITM’s clients can trust in the content to be relevant to their industry's demands along with the challenges of current times ensuring that each training connects and is relevant to their unique needs.

In The Moment Co (ITM) was born out of the culmination of my extensive experience as a facilitator and teacher and my passion for wellbeing.

My first experience with mental health challenges occurred after years of being a competitive athlete, pushing my body to its limits and having my identity fully planted in sport. Walking away from my team meant walking away from every support system I had and abandoning who I thought I was. But at 21 years old, I left behind everything I knew (and a degree in health science that was just a few credits shy of completion) to find myself in the Costa Rican jungle to learn mindfulness and meditation. It was the beginning of rebuilding my Self from scratch and led me to over a decade of learning, practicing and teaching.

After nearly 15 years of teaching mindfulness and physiology, I hit the wall. The irony of spending each day teaching classes of up to 100 people how to listen to their bodies while completely ignoring my own landed me in full burn out.

I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition and then 6 months later with unexplained infertility.

I quickly realized that all tools I had been using were no longer working, and in fact I was yet again having to rebuild myself from rock bottom with a new understanding of how chronic stress hides in plain sight. Recovery involved a never ending rollercoaster of vulnerability, asking for help, admitting I needed professional support and realizing that my ability to share this story with others meant I didn’t feel so alone in the process.

I have trained in mental health and wellbeing, neurobiology and the impacts of chronic stress and trauma exposure. I have equipped myself with study in suicide prevention, psychological stress injuries, critical incident debriefing, peer support models and trauma informed practice. Also, as a facilitator in the EQ-i 2.0, the world’s leading Emotional Intelligence psychometric test, I integrate skill development through increasing emotional and mental health literacy.

The mind behind In The Moment Co.

  2. Authentic Leadership Approach: Leaders with a solid emotional intelligence foundation navigate beyond clichés. They prioritize authentic connections over rehearsed speeches, cultivating a leadership style grounded in genuine engagement.

  3. Talent Retention Catalyst: Emotional Intelligence serves as the catalyst for workplace environments where talent retention is a norm, sparing organizations the need for extravagant retention strategies.

FAQs

  • The unique combination of neurobiology education, EQ skills development and shared lived experiences means learning the WHY before the HOW. This increases motivation for self growth and change while also building empathy for those who stay stuck. You will walk away with actionable tools and immediate impact.

  • The name ‘In The Moment Co’ was a way to pay homage to the years of mindfulness study and teaching Jazz endured only to learn that the more you know, the more you know you don’t know! It serves as a reminder that most things can be made better when we pause, exhale and look around at the ‘right now’.

  • Have you ever tried to have a well grounded, factual and effective conversation with a 3 year old who doesn’t want to share her toys in the sandbox?

Yea, me too and no thanks!

I point out often how many adult conversations can trigger us in the exact same way as the sandbox saga…and the reason being that when we try to rationalize with someone lacking EI, we quickly are humbled as to the importance of these skills in day to day adulting.

EI are NOT soft skills that *may* improve your work performance but rather essential markers of a human able to function well in the face of change, challenge and uncertainty.
